Welcome to the Discussion

Beyond the Creepy Child has recently launched and is still developing. New sources, observations, interpretations and thoughtful questions may help the project continue to grow.

If you have something relevant to contribute—whether you noticed a detail in the film, know of a useful historical or scholarly source, remember material from the original website or DVD features or simply have a thoughtful interpretation—you are welcome to join the discussion.

Different viewpoints are also welcome. The purpose of this page is not to require everyone to agree, but to encourage thoughtful discussion about Katie, the film, childhood in horror, history, theology, symbolism and the other subjects explored throughout the site. Thoughtful contributions may help identify new avenues for future exploration.

Thank you for helping the project grow.

Please help keep the discussion useful and welcoming:

  • Be respectful, thoughtful, and constructive toward other participants.

  • Keep comments reasonably relevant to the project or subjects discussed on the website.

  • Different points of view are welcome; personal attacks and hostile exchanges are not.

  • When possible, provide a source or reference.

  • Please distinguish documented information from personal interpretation, speculation, or memory.

  • Refrain from posting private information about yourself or others.

Because Ghost Ship contains disturbing material, please use discretion when describing graphic scenes.

Comments may be moderated to keep the discussion relevant and respectful.
